16th sunday in ordinary time

Brothers and sisters, today’s Word reminds us that the Kingdom of God is found in the ambiguity of History and that we must love reality as it is, even if we long for it to be different. Let us pray.

We want to be yeast of humanity, in the heart of the world

May the Church be a call and an invitation to live by putting into practice the love of neighbor, beyond mere fulfillments, rites, or given norms.

We want to be yeast of humanity, in the heart of the world

May believers not erect themselves as definitive judges, dividing people and events into good or bad, but always moved by mercy.

We want to be yeast of humanity, in the heart of the world

May we be aware that there are no perfect communities, ideal worlds, that we succeed in coexisting with peace in ambiguity by always striving to improve.

We want to be yeast of humanity, in the heart of the world

May we succeed in fermenting all reality and the lives of people with the values of the Kingdom.

We want to be yeast of humanity, in the heart of the world

That like Jesus, we immerse ourselves fully in the problems of people and peoples, acting with simplicity, with humanity, taking charge of and bearing reality.

We want to be yeast of humanity, in the heart of the world

Good Mother Father, the Kingdom of God needs our effort, work, and action for its realization; may we all renew our commitment to your Kingdom at this moment.
