Friends:
Often, the best restaurants have all their tables reserved, to the disappointment of diners who intend to improvise a meal. The one Jesus proposes in the Gospel is that table where there is always room for anyone. No waiting list and without anyone asking you at the door who you are, where you come from, or what you think.
That afternoon, on the grass, the menu was little: five loaves and two fish. Jesus turned to his followers and said to them: “Give them something to eat.” And there is the miracle that continues to challenge us: when little is put in the middle, there is enough for everyone. “They were satisfied, and twelve baskets remained.”
Come and sit down: the table is free. And share, because there is enough for everyone.

When you do not trust yourself, when you do not love yourself, you are denying your own divinity; and attracting just the opposite of who you are. And if you do not feel love for yourself, you cannot give it to others, who can give what they do not have for themselves?
A Table for All. Amidst our daily noise, haste, and distances, a call opens a common space: “To the table!”. Jesus sees people’s hunger and does not dismiss it; he gathers them. He does not just multiply loaves of bread: he multiplies the possibility of us sitting together. The miracle begins when shared bread becomes a table for all. Because when someone calls, welcomes, and shares, the bread ceases to be just food and becomes fraternity.
