15th sunday in ordinary time

Brothers and sisters, the parable of the sower reminds us of the magnificent harvest produced by seed that falls on good soil. Let us pray.

We long to be earth sown by God.

May the Church open its eyes and ears to hear the cry of the afflicted and thus discover where and how it is called to be Good News today.

We long to be earth sown by God.

May we believers be earth that welcomes the call to be sowers of life, justice, solidarity, and peace.

We long to be earth sown by God.

May we all be aware that the ultimate success of God’s sowing rests in the different attitudes with which we receive the proclamation of his Good News.

We long to be earth sown by God.

May peace spring forth in war-torn countries, may weapons cease, may the sound of bombs fall silent, and may word, the gesture that binds, and encounter become possible.

We long to be earth sown by God.

May the men and women who give their lives each day for those who need us most feel our support, our solidarity, and our gratitude.

We long to be earth sown by God.

Good Father Mother, we long to be earth sown by your love and to become bearers of your Good News, always drawing near to the small and the marginalized.
