Amidst our daily noises, rushes, and distances, a call opens up a common space: “To the table!”. Jesus sees the hunger of the people and does not dismiss it; he gathers them. He does not just multiply loaves of bread: he multiplies the possibility of us sitting together. The miracle begins when shared bread becomes a table for all. Because when someone calls, welcomes, and shares, the bread ceases to be mere food and becomes fraternity.
